When does the OMP pump oil?

I was just wondering if the OMP pumped oil all the time? Reason for the question is that i just got my car up and going again yesterday. It was down with a blown tranny and so i decided to have all my parts ceramic coated. I also replaced the oil metering lines with clear medical grade nylon. I got everything back together and started, checked for leaks and filled all the fluids. Took it out for about a 3mile drive and it wouldnt build any boost at all. I came home and right as i was pulling into my neighborhood it started acting like it had a vacuum leak. It also wasnt pulling vacuum like it should on my power fc. I shut it off and checked for vacuum leaks, None. I had my friend start it and noticed that the OMP lines didnt have any oil in them. So i had him shut it off and got out the compression tester. Hooked it up to the front rotor and my friend was cranking and my f***ing starter lit on fire. That was from high resistance in my cable so im off to get new wiring and starter right now. Also my front rotor was only putting out 89-90psi and it used to read 105. So is it possible that on the 3mile drive it wasnt getting lubrication? I didnt have time to check the rear. I put it back in the garage after all that and went to work. Got home and blew what baking soda i could off my engine and bay(its all over everything ) and took my upper intake off. All the vacuum lines are hooked up and everything looks normal. Im stumped as to why the front rotor would be so low on compression unless its cause of the OMP. Any help would be much appreciated. It runs fine when you rev it up but just idleing its not pulling vacuum like it should. This is on a s5 t2 also. Thanks Skyler

So nobody knows exactly when the OMP pumps, is it suppose to be all the time or based of rpm or something?

The OMP pumps oil, but does so very slowly. You should always premix heavily for a while after replacing OPM Lines. I will take a long time to fill the lines under normal driving. (probably 10 minutes).

The flow is conrolled by RPM and throttle position.

You should also check the new lines for leaks, as the oil is not pumped very quickly at all and a small leak can keep it from reaching the engine.

I dunked mine in 2-stroke oil to fill them before installing them on the engine.

try holding the linkage of the OMP wide open while idling and see if it starts to flow.

FB drifter, this is an S5, metering lever is all internal to the pump and is electronically controlled.
