whats wrong: Coolant buzzer

Everytime i start my car now the coolant buzzer comes on until its completely warmed up! wtf is going on...that damn buzzer is ****'n me off, my guess is that the thermostat is goin out, unless my rad. is clogged somewhere, bcuz my coolant is clear and filled in both my rad and coolant container.. but i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem happen to them...just lookin' for a lil advice, thks

have you checked your coolent level...?

the buzzer goes off because your coolent is low, once your car warms up and starts moving coolent around its probaby just enough to keep the sensor intermitently grounded so it stays off

I may be to simple minded, but when my coolent buzzer goes off i check the coolent

the container by the rad. and the rad is full too. my guess is that the thermostat isnt opening earlier enough for the coolant to pass through; therefore, the buzzer is going off...the thermostat opens at like 190 degrees right? idk for sure...lmk what u think now.

Does your coolant temp gauge inside the car work? My coolant buzzer always came on... Til I replaced the coolant temp sensor ($3) on back of the water neck... Now my gauge works... And no buzzer!!!

At the worst its a coolant seal "inside" the engine

My guess is air in the system.

Open all 3, not 2, of the coolant filling areas. Fill the top one until coolant starts to come out of he radiator opening. Close radiator opening. Continue to fill the top one until it's full. Close it. Fill the resevoir. The End.

Neither a bad thermostat nor a clogged radiator will cause a low coolant alarm, because neither will cause the level in the radiator to drop.

If the cooling system is full (to the top of the filler neck, not just the radiator) and the oil level is above the low mark (same warning buzzer) then you may have an electrical probelm. Check to to see the radiator level sensor is plugged in properly and that the wire isn't damaged where it leaves the sensor.

I agree with SimplyComplex. This happened in my last RX-7. If the rad was even a touch below full, the buzzer went off until warmed up. I had to add water to the upper filler near the engine that is at a higher elevation to make it shut up. However I filled the rad, capped it the poured more in the upper one and capped it. Rather than letting it spill out the lower one before capping it, thus adding a little more than the rad will hold. It stopped instantly, but came back eventually a month or later because there must have been a slow leak somewhere.

its a faulty coolant sensor. Its right nest to the radiator.
