What's wrong? :( :( :(

I bought Racing Beat Catback Exhaust. (Well, first of all when I ordered it, it said it was the true duals, yet it came with a Y-Pipe, yet that's beyond the point). Anywho, the car is bone stock except for this Y-pipe and dual Racing Beat mufflers. All the piping is like 1.5 inchs bigger than stock..and yet when I started up the car it was AS QUIET or possible QUIETER then stock. I am very very unhappy right now..I need to know whether to send these back / buy new exhaust, or what I can do to make these louder. It's driving me nuts! $600 dollars and it appears they are just for looks.

racing beat has a nice note when you have the full system, its definatly not all that loud. but if you want loud exhaust......get single or go with some other kind of mufflers and get rid of the cats (i.e. apexi n1's or something like that)

Racing Beat's exaust are known to be one of the quietest aftermarket exaust in the market. If you want it to be louder just get a headers and install an open intake filter. Its those stock cats that are muffling the sounds.. get rid of them and you will go nuts.

So..with running Open Air Intake => Headers => Y-Pipe => Mufflers..It'll be louder? I just need to here something other then the engine when I step down on the throttle, you know? All sound coming from under the hood just isn't pleasing me really. And uh, I've heard of people spitting flaming with RB's. Possible?

Take off the cat back and send it to me... then just run it with the cats only... that will make it loud!

My RB header is LOUD. I have to idle out of the neighborhood. I can't let the start up process take place as it revs to 3k and sounds like a piston motor that's lost a rod!! Buy a RB True dual Header. Its another $200 bux.

Would a new set of Mufflers hanging on the back make a difference?

BTW, does the car perform better?? That would be my focus. I could do without the noise.

To be perfectly honest, quiter but freeflowing is better. I have an apex'i single out of a straightpipe and it's obnoxiously loud. I'm surprised that I haven't been pulled over for it. If I could afford it, I'd go with a full RB setup on my TII....Nice, quiet, estimated 52 HP gain...I'd be happy.

I can't believe you're trying to compare a FULL exhaust to a cat-back one.
We're talking non-turbo right?
You realize your FC is running THREE cats in it stock?
Get rid of the cats...
Get a mid-pipe and pre-silencer...
This will make more noise.

BTW, how old are you?

1. There is no way that a cat-back exhaust could be true duals unless you bought an uncollected header and two presilencers with it. I would suggest doing more research before you purchase products.

2. Bigger piping does NOT necessarily equal louder...its mostly the muffler design that will control how loud your exhaust is.

3. Louder does NOT necessarily equal more power. The Racing Beat mufflers are a great, high flowing design for an N/A car but they are definitely pretty quiet. As suggested above, a header and presilencer will make your car louder AND give you more power. If you want a loud exhaust, buy a Corksport or Apexi N1.

sorry to hear you and not happy. I have a corksport 3in turbo back exhaust and have a mid muffler to pass smog on it and it is still really loud. also shots fire. I love it but if it was my daily driver it might get a lil old. love the screamin of my car but I also love my being able to hear my music in my truck with the windows up and the ac on. and still getting better gas milage. If you want loud get a big *** single exhaust but don't even think about using your cell phone when the car is on

uhm, why do you want a loud exhaust again?
the racing beat systems are designed specifically for HP gains on the rotary engine. I have the header presilencer ypipe + mufflers, and it PERFORMS perfectly. I couldnt care less about how it sounds.

if you want it to just be loud, sell your ypipe on the forum to someone who will use it, put your stock one back on, and stick a giant 5" retard cannon on the back of your car.

maybe he wants it loud, it is up to him and his opinion so you all should probably stop hating. i don't know what you guys consider loud, but my turbo II has the ssautochrome 3" turbo back exhaust (which is supposedly the same as corksport), i have some other mods too, it was loud the first time I drove it, but its not loud like loud can be. (the turbo silences it?). but i will say it is pretty loud if you have the door open or are standing outside the car. so did the rb catback give you some more power? and im pretty sure racingbeat's 3" turbo back is a proven? 59 horespower gain on a dyno.

Maybe you need to go reread the thread again.
The original poster was talking about a non-turbo...

Sleejay your my hero! Hahahahaha honestly I lived in a neighborhood with about three of those retard cannons that were active from around midnight to four AM and for the life of me couldn't understand why some one would want to spend their money so they could get pulled over by the cops and cited for noise violation while still not seeing improvement over their stock exhaust.

Anyways a little more on topic. IF you really want to be loud and obnoxious I could totally fab up a piece that you could slip on before your muffler so that your car would sound much like a kazoo. Seriously it is totally possible and then you would be UBER cool!

i think my girlfriend has a racing beat exhaust on her car. it's quiet, but not stock quiet like other cars. i think it sounds awesome... it has a nice aggressive exhaust note that still let's you hear the revs in the engine.

i have a ******* fart can on my car. its not a bumble bee exhaust like on some hondas, but it still sounds obnoxious. i guess you might think its cool when you hear a car go by with that deep sound, but inside the car its a different story. your ears will be ringing everytime you get out of the car. personally i think its embarassing to drive around with that ish.

if you wanted a loud car, you didn't need to buy a catback. just go to your local ghetto garage and ask them to cut off your muffler and weld on something loud. 15 bucks for ear shattering enjoyment.

"retard cannon"

How it much larger piping and striaght-through mufflers just for looks? You have only replaced half of the exhaust. As mentioned, you still have three restrictive (probably clogged) cats still there. If you plan to eventually replace the rest of the exhaust system with something better (like the rest of the RB system), then sticking some cheap single-muffler system out back will just leave you with a ridiculously loud system later.

You should probably go look up the word hate in the dictionary. Using it in the context of an internet discussion is just stupid.
