I was just wondering if you guys(and girls) out there could tell me what this RX is worth. This guy wants $3000 obo. What do ya'll(yes i'm from texas) think?

133k on the odometer
All electronics working, including wipers.
nice aftermarket spoiler(nice looking)
recently painted(champagne, closley matching original color) but owner doesnt know when painted.
RB header, custom straight-through exhaust
custom stereo
A/C and P/S removed
Tires have 50% tread left
Interior and body in great condition
Engine is running strong almost like recently rebuilt
Custom intake
new filters and plugs
aftermarket racing wheels
ebay front strut tower brace
Selling because he's about to start college and can't afford the gas mileage with a 120mile a day trip.(he says it get about 19mpg)

don't buy a racer car off a highschool student.........If you really want it offer him 2500 and then AFTER he agrees ask if you can take it to a mechanic(you pay) and depending on what the mechanic says you then haggle a bit. If a highschool student owned it then he raced it.......My $.02

 

you say it runs like i was recently rebuilt. its almost impossible to determine the shape of the engine without genuine #'s on paper. Ask to get a compression test to see the condition of the motor. Also if he has reciepts, its good to look through all of them to check what has been done in the past and to see if it has been properly taken care of. Also do a VIN vehicle history check. Always a good thing to do before purchasing a used car to verify its history. -alex

 

He got it from an auto broker in a larger city about 2 hours from where i live. Theres not any records of anything except what was recently done. Which i found out was brakes, and a new tire. but still it drives great and handles good. And i forgot to mention it has a mazdatrix short shifter. Its really fun to drive. I just wanna know how much people think its worth...

2200......LESS IF YOU HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BY A MECHANIC AND HE TELLS YOU THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT.

 

honestly, 3k is fair if its a "nice" car. seems like the car was taken care of because the previous owners bothered to have it repainted. the biggest - is not having a/c. im sure he 'raced' it about as much as we all treat our 7's. which is usually getting on it like 3 or 4 times when you have it out. if it looks nice and the compression #'s are straight I suggest offering 2500, not 3k only because of the air conditioning being removed

 

the PO may of repainted the car to cover up and imperfections to the body such as bondo patches. thena again, he may of cared the car enough to repaint it just because it needed a new paint job.
