What's this S5 worth?

Hey guys, I signed up a while ago because I was looking for a first-gen rx7 to use as a project car and have some fun with it... but, I scrapped that idea quickly once I got my motorcycle. Still, I want to get an rx7, but now I'm looking for a nice, reliable, good-looking daily driver, and I think I found one that would easily fill the place of my poopy Cavalier:

1990 GXL in mint condition

Now, obviously, this is a great-looking car. It has low miles, no dents, leather seats in great condition, and whatnot, but I still think that the price is a little high. I mean, it's a 15-year-old car, and it's not a turbo. What I want to know is, what do all of you think that the car is worth? Is it really worth $6000? I want to have a good idea of what I'm looking at before I drive 2 hours away to pay too much.

Thanks for any insight

I paid $3250 for my '88 with 72k on the odo. It was near perfect, just a few minor paint flaws and dings. But if everythings looking good on that car, I'd probably offer $4000. Def. not worth $6000 though.

I paid $1k for mine, but it was also in a front end collision that was repaired and had some interior flaws (bins missing) and dings dents and scratches, so I'd say $2500 would be reasonable. I mean, hell, FD's with blown engines go for $6k. What the crap?

It's clean and low mileage. Assuming it has been maintained as well mechanically as it has looks wise, I'd personally pay 4-5k, depending on how many/condition of the FC's around you. If you have a ton of nice FCs around, then a good condition isn't all that spectacular... if there aren't many FCs and/or lots of crappy ones around, it bumps that one's price up a bit.

I'd pay $4-5k if I wanted it as a daily driver and leave it stock. The real question is... how much is it worth to you?

If close, go have a look see. Unfortunate no engine bay pix. I agree with the 3 - 4K range after you give it a hard drive. Do not let the emotion of a very clean car inflate what you are willing to pay. If fully insured, consider what you will get if it is tragically totaled.

I paided 550$ for my 89 GXL and she runs really strong, set aside from normal replacement. Like what the other people said also give it one hell of a beating. I personaly think that 6k is too high. $3,500 tops i could say. good luck on that.
