Whats a good way to flush oil cooler?
I checked the FSM, and it only says Inspection, and Removal and Installation.
I searched, but "oil cooler" comes up with every thread about oil pumps, and cooler rad temps.
Whats a good solvent or something that I can use to flush the oil cooler? When I pulled the engine, the oil in the engine was clean cause it had recently been changed, but the oil that drained ouf of the cooler was black. Is that normal? Engine had broken coolant seal channel on the center plate, and didn't show any signs of poor oiling. I'm going to check the bypass plug in the cooler. If its bad, is there somewhere I can get just the plug thing? I've never seen that part sold by itself.
Thanks,

Someone I discovered at PRI last year:
Michael Brayton
Ultrasonic Cleaning Services
(714)879-8224
He seemed to be pretty up on things, had letters from CART teams on his display and all. I would imagine that he isn't cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for.
His description of his cleaning process was pretty impressive.

My local Mazda (Morningside Mazda) provides an Engine Flush that encompasses the Oil Cooler aswell. The machine Is called the Bilstein and It does a thorough job. I've had this service done their and had seen the crud that came out. This Is from an FC that religiously has 3000 km Oil Changes.
