All the stock things that are in that panel could be:

Mirror switch
Foglight switch
Security light
Vert switch
AAS switch
headrest speaker switch
headlight leveling switch(euro)

None of these are round as you describe.

Probably a fuel cut switch. Click it and try to start your car, if it won't start, that's exactly what it is. It's a hand tool for deflooding the car.

If it were stock, it'd be marked/labeled.
Does look pretty stealth though.

Could be for anything. My first FC had a similar switch there for the rear wiper. The stock switch for the rear wiper crapped out so someone just wired in a momentary contact switch there for it. All you can do is try it and see what happens.

If it's a fuel cut switch you will likely see a wire tapped into an existing wire at the Circuit Opening Relay located under the dash and just to the right of the steering wheel column. The relay is Yellow and Black.

Pop the switch panel off, and see what's underneath.

Check to see if there is even power getting to the switch. It may simply be something left over from a what ever the prior owner was trying.
