Might buy an '89 TurboII with 37k miles on it. What would this sucker sell for with a new paint job (it's got a few chunks of paint pulled off under the rear spoiler, and by the sunroof).
It's white, blue leather interior in good shape, all stock I believe.
It runs good and strong. Really a great car.
So basically, it'll probably have a $1000 exterior paint job done to it to get it back up and in good shape.

Well, I dunno, but akageals' 89 t2 with 49k miles is being sold for the $9-10k range, though it is, as far as I can tell, perfectly mint. I'd say $6-7 on average...

yeah I seen his car, that one is in NICE shape. This one is in GREAT shape too, except for the exterior paint, which I'm going to have redone anyhow. So maybe $6-7k without the paint?

It's worth one of my kidneys. I start off with 2 right? OK, cool I got one to spare then. I've never seen one in my area, on the road, for sale, sitting at a rotary shop, nowhere, never, nada.

I paid 10k for a 90 TII with 43k on the clock. Came with about 2k worth of parts. Car was super clean, pretty good paint still. Just as a reference...
Steve
P.S. Even after the down payment, my seller was still getting offers, up to 11k.

Some kid bought it for TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS before I could get it. You have no FRIGGING IDEA how pissed I am right now. I told the guy I'd give him $2500 right before I went over and it was gone for $2000 when I got there.

Hi everyone, first post here, this is a great forum.... Thought I would make a few of you drool.... Recently just north of here (Cincinnati) I found a black '87 T2, with 6000 *original* miles, on a dealers lot...it didnt stay there long, it sold for just over $11,000. This car was absolutely the finest Rex I had seen since I wondered the Mazda lots when I was just out of high school. Not a single scratch on it, the interior showed no wear whatsoever, not a speck of rust or faded paint anywhere. Strange color combination though, black exterior, blue (gray?) cloth interior...? I didnt know they came like that. My wife said if I had bought it she would have left me. NOW she tells me.......

I did.. I have his # and offered him $2500, because I want to resell it quick for $7000 and make a quick buck, but it was going to get to the point where it wasn't worth the hassle anymore.

IF the kid has signed as buyer on the car's title, that means it isnt worth your trouble because you'd have to wait for him to go tag/title it, get the new title with his name printed as owner, and then him sign it over to you.
Or, at least, here that is how it must be done, if someone has signed as buyer on the back of the title...the state does not allow it to pass through individuals hands more than once before it gets turned in to them...the only way around it is to get a car dealer to reassign it to you, which they can do for free, but only if you're their friend.

hypntyz, each state is different. For example I recently sold a car in PA, which is completely different from VA, and we were REQUIRED to go to a dealer to have the title assigned to the buyer. When I bought a car in PA the dealer can pass title at least 3 times becasue of wholesalers, etc. In VA, no dealer or Notary required, you hand over the title and walk away.
