has anyone ever used these, I bought a pair of fronts off BrakePerformance.com

I was expecting drilled all the way through but these are only drilled in a couple of mm. Hence the 'dimpled' anyway I wanted to know if anyone used these and if they are good rotors.

Could you explain why it is a waste of time? (I just want to know)

Pay particular attention to the "side bar" on page 4 - "Those Poor Rotors".

just go to the brake and suspension forum and you will see the pros and cons....well, the cons mostly of drilled rotors.

Before spending so much money on useless rotors, spend that money on better tires and pads.

+1, although, technically they're not useless, since they still function as brake rotors, they're just not a performance upgrade and not worth the money.

Nice post, I had always been told drilled rotors were counterproductive, but it's nice to see it explained better than I had been taught.

In my experience, Drilled/Slotted rotors are just for looks. They really aren't for heavy racing. Under extreme high temps that the rotors reach during heavy track racing, the rotors will crack and shatter because of the holes or slots a.k.a "imperfections".

I just installed a set of Brembo blanks and HawK+ pads from tirerack.com on my Vert. Very economical!

i got hawks hp+ and fresh fuzion zri and the car stops way more better.
Before changing them it took some distance to stop. But all that was pretty useless since the brake fluid was 5 years old and it was fading after 4 hard stops.

Slots still have their uses in some forms of professional motorsport as you'll see them on Super GT cars, but that could be because of the pads those cars use.

The difference between what we can get:

and what Super GT uses:

They are a bit different. Super GT uses this style of rotor so the brake pressure doesn't just crush the rotor and it actually has somewhere to push the pressure. (Thats the way I was told it anyway)

The ones we buy are more for cosmetic purposes than actual usefulness...

That was an awesome article! I always thought that the drilled rotors were more performance oriented because they were good at dissipating heat.
