Compression Check Question

I think I may have a blown rotor. I'm trying to do a cheap compression check first. Aaroncake.net only mentions taking the leading plug from the front rotor. I did this and I have even, strong "psst" sounds in a regular repetition. Is the procedure the same for the rear rotor? I did just the leading plug from rear rotor (closest to firewall) and have little if any pulse at all. I can't hear it, but I can feel air with my hand near the hole.

Also, my spark plugs were very caked up with carbon and I cleaned them off to see if the horrible loss of power and the bad idling noise was from fouled plugs. Which wires, just to be sure, go to which plug from the coils? L1 = leading rear, L2= leading front, T1 = trailing rear, T2 = trailing front... Right?

No. Rotor #1 is the front rotor, rotor #2 is the rear rotor. So L1=leading front, L2-leading rear, and so on for the trailing plugs.

BTW, if you can't hear a chuf-chuf-chuf clearly from the rear rotor, chances are you have compression problems. Put your finger over the plug hole and have someone crank the engine. You should feel pressure on your finger. [Be sure to disable the ignition and fuel supply by removing the EGI fuse.] Best to have it checked using a proper tester to make sure before you judge whether or not your engine requires a rebuild or replacement.

the compression should nearly Blow your finger Off the spark plug hole..if it doesn't do that,Then Get a Goddamn compression tester and do it Correctly and find out.(you will see that the Compression is low!)..and yes..,disconnect the EGI(so you don't have fuel going in to Frigg the test up) and if you are afraid of shock, remove the Plug wires at the Coil.(or disconnect the CAS).the Plug Position starting at the Front Is.: TOP plug is TrailingT1 lower plug is Leading L1..Rear Rotor is TOP:trailingT2,and the Bottom os Leading L2...the rotors are FRONT(closest to the FRONT of the Car!) and REAR(closest the firewall)....I need Coffee!
