Angry What is wrong with this thing. (oil pressure guage)

OK my oil guage has been acting kinda wierd. Somtimes it is at the 0 level and does not work sometimes it is at the 30 mark and don't move either. Then just today it worked sort of. Could this be my sensor or just the guage getting old. I will get an aftermarket one soon but would like the stock one to work too. Where is the sensor for the oil presure? how much do they cost? and how easy is it to replace? Thanks in advance.

Lubrication chapter in the fsm at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com Sender is under the filter. The connector is falling off.

Check the connector under the oil filter. I have knocked mine off many of times while changing the oil. It does scare the hell out of you when right after an oil change your gauge reads zero. Also there could be some oil build up from the oil filter or it is a little corroded, clean the connector see if that helps before you replace stuff.

Yeah mine does that too

Yeah,
I was going like 90 mph and glanced at my Oil Pressure gauge and it said like 0 and I kinda freaked and pulled off the intersate at the next exit. When I slowed down to 50 mph it jumped back up to 60 and gradually came down to normal (just under 30) I guess its just a bad connector.

It's likely your Oil Pressure Is okay but the Infamous gauge Is giving out or not doing It's job right.

The cheapest assurance you can do Is remove the Oil Thermo Pellet and replace It with a dummy one should you feel more secure doing so.

I went through the trouble of replacing the Oil Pressure Sender Unit to no avail...still messed up readings.

Through the Installation of an aftermarket one, I get 75psi on start up, 24psi at Idle and b'n 30-70 psi when crusing. Really, nothing to panic about.
