Well it's kinda like "Field Of Dreams" only reverse...

In the movie, it's "If you build it, they will come"

With us it's more like "If they come, we will build it!"

I have some thoughts on this. First of all unless you're willing to sell things for a cut rate price (and maybe be forced to skimp on quality), then you'll need to make some unique/hard to get pieces, otherwise you'll be competing against lots of people. Here are some of my ideas for some good unique things:

I've seen several people ask about harness bars. I think a Sparco style one would be good (not for the US S5's though, due to the auto belts). I've never seen one of these for an FC.

A brake master cylinder brace would be good. I've only seen them custom made or for RHD (JDM).

Some assorted bracing that's not commonly available would be good too. Some lower arm bars maybe (Mazdaspeed style if possible, maybe AutoEXE style). Some under fender braces would be good too (ties strut towers to door hinges under the fenders). Maybe some subframe connectors or frame rail braces too (like the Flying Miata ones, maybe a FM butterfly brace type thing too).

That should be enough ideas to get you started. I think there'd be a good chance of those things being in demand if they came to be easily available. If you don't know what I'm talking about I'll post links or explain.

Yea we're definately on the same page here... Unique and/or impossible to find items! Those are some good ideas... I saw a thread earlier about the master cylinder brace, so that idea is still fresh in my head... Keep em comin and I'm writing everything down, so I can discuss it with my dad tomorrow... We'll start shopping for supplies within the next few days!

If you are not able to 'machine' things, its big downside....for most products i could think of you need welding, machining and casting. Everything in house to be able make it at competitive prices and in reasonable time.

If you will need some things casted/machined i have abilities for this (of course it takes time and money and first one unit will be most likely as expesive like 10-50 other units, depending on how complicated is it). And you have to make a decent run of them, nobody will cast you one piece

It would be cool if you could make the underbelly with an integrated brace liek the miata butterfly brace, and diffusers.

Heres what comes to my mind
The Rear Triangular Strut Bar

The Radiator Top Piece with holes for the reservior top/ latch

Cold Air Box that works with the vented headlight and also have a hole by the wire grommet for the left headight (drilled and made a doubler thru grommet area and snorkled it out the left foglight area)

Maybe a front strut bar that goes out away from the TMIC and connects to a third area(if possible?)

New heat shield for cat (mine rusted off)

A modified headlight assembly where the vent isnt blocked by some hardass metal braces from headlights and is like ducted to CAI

Alternator relocation bracket arms

Better Battery Box that can maybe hold a terminal so I can use it to run some 12v wires into car instead of tapping of 12v in every location

Sway bars

Maybe a metal shell of an armrest that runs down the middle from shifter to back that can be padded later on (my screws underneath broke so it wiggles)

A metal piece that hold aux buttons where power mirror switch is

All I can think of

I believe we can make alot of these items without having to machine anything... For a guy who has done everything from welding underwater, to building 2-ton boat trailers out of random scrap steel (and making it look like a prefessional company built it no less), he has the engineering capability to come up with some amazing ideas... And we're also trying to select items that can be fabricated without the use of castings or lathes...

However...

If you will need some things casted/machined i have abilities for this (of course it takes time and money and first one unit will be most likely as expesive like 10-50 other units, depending on how complicated is it). And you have to make a decent run of them, nobody will cast you one piece
If we fall upon something that needs cast parts, I'll be sure to contact you for your valuable skills...

We're getting together tomorrow to go over the list and price materials... If we can't keep it affordable for most FC people, then we may not see it, but honestly I believe most of this stuff can be made for well within the average FC guy's price range... After all, the idea started with my own FC...

How about some engine stand mounts that will bolt up to a rotary. I hate always having to borrow one when I am working on an engine.

Or a flywheel lock, or other easy to make rotary only tools.

2nd Gens NEED a decent alteza taillight kit. maybe something that mimics the new mazda 6. I know a lot of S4 guys just get the S5 tail lights, but I dont really dig those.

We need a new, modern design with daimond cut reflective surfaces.

Hope I am not reposting.... but a triangular metal connector for the throttle body of N/A to make it universal to most cold air intakes, would be awesome!

I am pretty sure those would sell like crazy!

Uhhh, NO WE DON'T! Besides I think this is quite out of the scope of what 13b4me has the ability or desire to make.

Thats probably because the Kirk racing rollbar is pretty easily available. I'm going a different route with my vert(cage of some sort).
Some vert owners may be interested in the double hoop rollbar type setup thats available for miatas though.

stylEmon Please get rid of your FC and get somthing else that you can discrace like a focus or maybe a civic or something brother. FC's are from the 80's man how are you going to make somthing thats 20 years old look like it belongs in this day and age?

Id be willing to pay for:

1. A nice roll cage setup not too expesive and light of corse (is that possible?)

2. Cold air box that completly blocks off the intake from the egine bay temps, and a good headlight cover duct to let some air in there or some other way to get air in

3. Strut towers for rear and front ends

And uhh thats all i can think of/afford right now. Good luck dude.

what, are you guys stuck in the 80's?

You'll use new technology for every aspect of your S4s and 5s, but the tail lights?

I dont get it.

And I'm not talking about ugly WHITE altezas you see on hondas. Just a design that utilizes the clearity of new lights.
