One problem I think you may be overlooking, is the fact that an FB engine sits further back in the engine bay than in the FC... That would make it exceedingly difficult to do any work on a fmic, sensors, AC compressor (if you have one lol), radiator, and anything near the front of the engine bay... I may be exhagerating a bit, but I'm sure Mazda had functionality in mind when they decided the FB hood should open reverse...

And thanks everyone for keeping this thread alive! I'm sure you won't be disappointed when the product is revealed!

Why??? You'll never max out the capacity of the stock N/A rails unless you go peripheral port, and by then, I'm sure you would have figured out a better fuel system to go with... One would hope anyways...

Maybe you could make a bolt on bellhousing from old junk mazda trannys? just a thought. everything your planning sounds great!
You would want an adapter plate to fit the bellhousing to the motor, not a custom bellhousing. If you can measure/draw, a machine shop can make that for you pretty cheap.

Ok another updizzle...

These strut bars are going to be absolute SEX... We fell behind schedule a little due to "mechanical difficulties" (regulator on the torch decided to take a **** on us), but we're getting back into the swing of things now...

The first bar is almost complete... We've been making minor adjustments on it, and changing up our cut angles to get it where it fits PERFECT... We also built a table for our chop saw that would allow us to get the 75deg cuts we need, so we can make these as effortlessly as possible... It seems like the further along we get in this project, the more we realize how utterly CRAPPY the CP Racing bars were designed and built! I think everyone will be extramely happy with our design and quality...

Oh and btw... Our bars are not only stronger than the CP bars, but they are substantially lighter too!

Don't lose faith in us here guys... We're continually working on and improving these until we are sure that they are what everyone wants to see! I'll keep everyone updated!

Exclamation BIG update

We have a prototype put together... I snapped a few pics on my my car today... The edges of the end plates will be trimmed off to more closely match the shape of the strut tower, so don't pay any attention to the excess material that was left on it... The welds are very good on this bar, but will be pretty much flawless on the production models... This was just some fitment testing we were doing so I figured I'd share it with everyone...

NOTE: The struts are bolted in and the bar is just kinda sitting on top for the pics... I just wanted to give everyone an idea of what we're working with here... Oh and as I said earlier, they are pretty light too...

I suppose if they touched it would be. But if they don't when you put it in, it's not like the alternator/brace move up and down.

There's also supposed to be a rubber piece covering the top connector so that'll help incase they do (no idea how they would).

It has about an inch and a half of clearance from the alternator (if not a little more), so I don't think that'll be a problem... What about you guys running FD alternators? Are they any taller?

Sorry no short shifters lol... They have them on ebay for $40 now anyways...

Thanks guys!

*******What would you folks like to see fabricated for the FC??? (seriously) ***********

An idler pully and bracket to replace the airpump after its removal, so you don't have to buy a dual belt pulley to keep the belts from slipping. I made one out of a spare a/c bracket/pulley.

It seems like too many people miss the point of this thread. Which I believe was to fabricate parts for the FC that NO ONE makes such as a tubular subframe(which I am very interested in). Or parts that are just damn near impossible to find, and when they are found the price just isn't reasonable. Not knock off parts and replica composite hoods made by other companies(lol @ how many times 13b4me has had to say hes not doing composites) and aren't too hard to get.

Now, 13b4me has decided to make a strut bar similar to some already made elsewhere. Honestly, I don't blame him cause the demand is there and they are welders so its not a problem for them, plus it will build credibility fast when they start to send them out the door. It also looks like 13b4me is making some nice improvements and will offer a better price, so kudos for that as well. I'll probably end up grabbing one too.

But seriously can we get some suggestions for the hard to find\not made by anyone else kind of stuff? The tubular subframe and aluminum brake ducts suggested by 13b4me sound like great ideas to me. I think just about anyone with a medium to highly modded TII should be interested in the subframe. Hell, even if your TII is pretty much stock, the subframe will give you peace of mind knowing you won't break it when you start modding in the future.

A copy of the AUTO-EXE Member bar set seems like a good idea(originally suggested by DriftingB26RX7), seeing how they cost $515 that just seems crazy for them and I'm sure 13b4me could do way better on the price.

ohh good call, any thoughts of doing skid plates? i dont know about you guys but here there are a shitload of dirt roads, and nasty rocks... im sure it would be REALLY easy to make, just a suggestion. also for those of us without the rear speakers (nice hack jobs on that flimsy sheet metal), do you by any chance have plans to make a bar that connects straight to the strut bolts? with the "cross bars" like similar to the ones made by cusco... Like this one on the 3rd page, (chrome and blue)

the eighth post down. or something similar to that? with the triangulated points too?

No plans on making a bar that runs straight through, since a majority of owners have the speaker towers intact... We can always make you a custom one for a little extra... It'll be designed the same as our regular rear strut bar though...

What about something like the Mazdaspeed Power Plant Frame, it seems pretty simple to fabricate something similar, and theirs goes for 600 bucks!!! Here check it out scroll down a bit, right after the Tein Coilover kit.

just another suggestion, dont worry ill give more
