The T2 does have more HP... 185. But, the S5 NA also weighs more... So, I think it would be a no contest with the trophy going to the older T2.

If you want a stock NA that is faster than the S4 T2, the only one you're going to find is the 1st gen GSL-SE, which, if memory serves me, was the fastest mazda rotary to make it state side until the S5 turbo came out.

The gsl-se ran high 15s while the S4 TII ran low 15s.

You're comparing a low 15 second car to a mid 16 second car.

Where are those numbers posted? I've seen numbers VERY close to each other. I've also seen on a ton of sites that the GSL-SE was the quickest standing 1/4 RX7 until the S5 T2.

The TII is faster than the GSL-SE but were talking tenths. The GSL-SE was the fastest NA but the TurboII came around and well all hell broke loose in the sports car world -Gabe

Not even a close question at all! The S4 turbo would wax it. Fastest RX-7s before FD3S are the S5 TII and then the S4 TII. None others close... well except for the Japan only 1st Gen Turbo version.

yeah the t2 has more a 22 more HP, 43 more lb/ft of torque, and a bigger powerband. and a closer ratio gearbox. and stiffer suspension. but yeah, the gsl-se is the fastest n/a for sure.... well at least until the rx8 is released.

Plus what does the S5 NA weigh compared to the S4 TII?
