What is this? And where does it go?

Hey guys,

I have only had this car for about 2 weeks now and i just noticed this plug hanging under the steering wheel. I have no clue as to what it is for or where it should plug into. I looked and saw nothing,

Here are a few snapshots of it, O it's an 89 gxl if that matters or helps any one.

please let me know what this is or where it should go.

Thanks in advanced.

Adam.

Mazda wired the car as if you had every option on it then added the options later... I have the harness for power windows in my doors and have manual windows.... also noticed I have the harness for power mirrors -yet do not have them... there is ABS wiring in the engine bay ect....

So what would hook up to this what option was or still is available to plug in here.

I have power everything.

or could it be simply used for many different options.

And is ther like a list of power options i can look threw somewhere to mayb narrow it down?

That plug powers a small light that illuminates the ignition when the door is opened.
It's timed, so it only operates for a short time then goes out.

Ding Ding Ding- the same circuit also illuminates the driver door lock on my 'vert when you lift the door handle. Handy if you have a black car and it's dark as hell out...
