What wastegate fits HKS Manifold?

I think my manifold is bad or just too old. What can fit my older HKS Cast Manifold? I believe the one on their now is a Standard HKS Wastegate.

Will anything bolt right up? I did some research and found some older posts with people having to make flanges. Any updates or is this still the case?

What size is the Standard HKS Wastegate?

Oh man, did I go through this a while ago... HKS doesnt make a wastegate that fits that flange anymore unless its the 40mm (which is actually a 33 mil).

get/make the hks flange, weld a pipe to the flage, weld your wastegate flange to the other end of the pipe.

IF I have a 38mm Tial...and I get a Flange from HKS, I can make it work? Or is a 38mm too small?

Who has a pick of a flange made...I want to see how it looks.

38mm should be fine for anything less than 15psi.

True on a well designed manifold, but not on that **** manifold, i know from experience. I even experienced boost creep up to 17 pounds on an 8.7 pound spring with a tial 44mm using that manifold.

LOL.. 15 PSI one one turbo is not 15 PSI on another. I would rather have the 46.

Which manifold? The HKS log style? I've never used one, so I wouldn't know.

For the stock turbo, the downpipe is held on by 3 nuts. For aftermarket turbos, there's other ways. A V-band flange is probably the top choice.

Well I was talking to brian from bdc the other day and he said it's actually hard to controll boost at lower boost levels using smaller wastegates than it is to controll boost at high boost with the same wastegate. I'm going to be using a 40mm wg with my t70 but I'm also not really going to be running to much below 20 at all times

its not the manifold thats junk, its the wastegate design. its in a crappy spot and it doesnt bleed off extra exhaust very effectively. I have this manifold myself! i didnt say you cant make power with it, just that the wastegate design sucks.

this is of course something I've wondered myself. I have a 3" downpipe that bolts to my stock turbo but that will have to be modified right? Like if I want to use some kind of T04 for it... does it have to be extended and then modified for a vband?

Yea most T4 manifolds set the turbo further forward, so you'd have to get an exhaust shop to extend your downpipe, and preferably weld a v-band on it. Makes it alot easier to maintain.

i have the hks standard gate on the hks log manifold. i can maintain a steady 14.8psi without issue, even on cold days. now anything under that and it just creeps right back up to 15psi.

the great thing tho, is that is works VERY WELL for 20psi, 25psi, and even 28psi i use a 3.5" downpipe, 3" exhaust, bridgeported, high comp, etc.. i think my Q-trim hotside might be helping.

are you guys really getting that bad of boost creep with this setup?

yes and no. on the dyno i was creeping up to 17 pounds on a 8.7 lb spring, but now that I've driven it on the street it is ROCK SOLID at 10-11 pounds, which is right where it should be because the boost source i used is off the intake manifold (one of the pre-throttle nipples) instead of straight of the compressor, which I've heard raises boost 2psi above wastegate.
