What turbo for me?

After reading about turbo sizes and all that, I just really got confused... so if anyone can lend some insight.. I'm looking to go to a hybrid setup and ditch the stock turbo.

I'm looking to make around 300-330hp to the wheels.. with supporting fuel mods. Probably 720 primaries and 860 secondaries or something of the like.

At the end of the summer I'll be going microtech, but untill then stock ecu..

But I'm looking for something with a decently fast spoolup, this car will mainly be used for the street.. with a trip to the dragstrip every now and then. Cooling will be a FMIC.

Any advice is appreciated, also with a manifold/wastegate setup.. I need to buy it all.

Thanks

My personal reccomendation:

t04 housing, h3 wheel, and either a stage III t3 turbine or a clipped stock exhuast wheel.

If you're doing a hybrid stock turbo, then you're simply reusing the stock manifold, oil/coolant lines etc... That's the major selling feature of the hybrid is being able to keep nearly all of your stock turbo related components. I would reccomend switching to a s5 turbo if you are still on a s4.

If you will honestly be happy with 300rwhp, than a hybrid can easily support that. Like all things though, you'll get used to the new found power and might get the itch for more. A full t04 (manifold, wastegate, turbo, oil/coolant lines, modified downpipe) conversion leaves you with the potential for more power, but also costs more.

This is a great time to sit down and decide what you really want to get out of the car. Write down a plan, and then exactly what you'll need to do in order to get there. I'm sure 99 percent of the FC owners on this board dream of a 60-1, stand alone, and front mount powered car. Unfortunately due to financial abilities and other time obligations, it's not feasible for a large majority of FC owners.

I would say an good cheap turbo for you goal with a 60-1. If you really want to spend a little more cash you could get a GT35R turbo, those are very very nice.

Well knowing me I'd get 300rwhp then id want 400.. so yeah maybe i should get something bigger.

This summer I'll be working the 9-5... and the only things i have to worry about are gas and insurance.. so i should pull in around 4-5 grand total. and i think thats enough to get my car where i want it... right now im shooting for about 300rwhp.. but if i obtain that.. the goal will goto 350/400..
