Question What is the thing under the seat on psg. floorboard with wires going to ecu

I am gutting an 86 GXL and found this little sensor (i think) under the passenger seat under the carpet. It has wires to the ecu. I was about to rip it off but thought I would ask you guys first. anyone want to buy any parts??

Will anything be messed up if I remove it? I have straight through exhaust. Thanks for the reply!

Finky, greetings from another GR Rex. How extensive is your gutting? I need all three defrost grill pieces. I understand it is a PIA to remove. Red would be perfect but can paint if necessary.

BTW, have you found any U-Pull yards in western MI ? Occasionally need "stuff" for my '90 GXL.
