What is this thing? Do I need it?
As the title says I don't know what this thing is or if I even need it. Car is an 87 turbo 2, obviously had a fire.

Hope to not have to ask too many questions but I'm sure I will have more.

AWS (accelerated warmup system) solenoid. It can be removed and each end the hose led to capped. It will give a stored code if disabled, but should not display an active check engine light.

Nice, another melted part I don't have to replace. I have no Idea where exactly the hoses went to but that isn't a problem yet.
