what size speakers fits perfectly for the rear towers on an 88gx??

what size speakers fits perfectly for the rear towers on an 88gx??

I'm getting rear speakers soo and wondering what size fits them perfectly without modding or doing to much work.

i had to get spacers after i bought my 6.5's... i think you can fit 8" back there without any modifications.. i also have an 88 GXL.

Yea the rear speaker towers are about 8 inches in diameter but at 8 inches that is starting the subwoofer size range.

I have 51/4 back there and I made my own spacers out of plywood, rotor tool, primer, and black paint. I cut the ply wood around the hole then made the hole inside the piece I just cut perfect size for the 51/4 then I primed and spray painted. There has to be an easier way but thats the way I did it.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm in the same bout as the thread starter. What is the best size u can get close to stock rear tower size ( stock size?). How's about the front is it 4" under the dash? Thanks

i'm not sure about the stock size for the rear(i got the car with no speakers) but i know for sure it's 4" under the dash.

i just bought 8" and cut the old speaker outa the mounting bracket, then just screwed it into the new one, Ta"Da.

I used 6.5 in the strut tower and took the factory speakers off the mounting plate, screwed the new ones onto the mounting plate. They fit fine, but you might have to drill a hole in the factory mounting plate.
