what should oil look like?
yes i have another question already.
The previous owner said he had changed the oil less than 1000 miles ago, but I'm going to change it soon just to be safe. (i have barely put 200 miles on the car) It looks sort of dark brown, is that what it should look like? How should it look at 2500-3000 miles?
and while i'm asking about oil, is it crucial to keep the oil level right at the full mark all the time, or do i just need to make sure it never goes below the low mark?
it's about 3/4 full, but i'm changing the oil this weekend, so i don't want to put new oil in it

sence the car injects oil, the oil is always slowly going down, therefore if properly maintained, new oil is always being added, and the oil should never be overly dark brown... mine always stays gold, but i usually let it run half way between low and full before i add more, then i change every 4500 - 5000kms, new fram, and dino oil.
i always keep a quart on me just incase i need to top it off, whenever i wash my car i top it off, incase of spills...
but it should never really be as dark as a piston engine, sence you are replacing the lost oil with fresh stuff...
