... Navel jelly, muriatic acid and diluted phosphoric acid are all good for removing rust .... I know you know that. Just for those that don't. We don't have rust in Texas. No salt on our roads.

Muriatic acid? I have alot of experience with the stuff, and I wouldn't touch anything metal with HCL. Is this actually a common thing to use when removing rust?

don't plan on getting rich off recycling steel. I went to the recycle yard with a truck load of steel and aluminum a few months ago and steel was $20 a ton for good steel, not rusted or painted stuff. Aluminum is $0.53 a pound. I hoard aluminum soda cans like a homeless person. I save up enough cans and go the the recycle yard once every other month or so and get $40 or more. Its not much but it adds up and it doesn't cost anything but the effort.

if it was up to me it would of been torn down years ago. plus it is protecting 1950s ford pickup. so it does have a little purpose.

btw if you think everyone in arkansas plays dueling banjos then you are a fool. and get out more. enjoy your 10$ a pack cigarettes
