Turbo intake manifold 0'ring

On a turboii there is a large o'ring b/t the lower intake manifold and the rear rotor housing. The question is.......isn't there a recess for the o'ring in the rear rotor housing......or is it in the intake manifold. I remember it being in the rotor housing. I remember the 12a's having two b/t the intake manifold and the rotor housings, but dang it, I can't remember for sure where the recess for the o'ring was. I'm giving serious consideration to just using a *paper* gasket b/t the intake manifold and rotor housing and a film of RTV. oH! i searched, really! honest to goodness cross my heart. i even glanced at the fsm....really.

I just replaced the orings and I'm trying to remember now...

We are talking about the coolant passage for the turbo and I want to say, "yes", there is a recess on the housing side. That o-ring was nearly sucked totally into my LIM casuing a coolant to squeeze out and puddle on top of the block.

Please double check my info.

My LIM has no recess to accept a ring, so I would guess it's in the housing..

The recess is deffinatley on the housing, the part of the manifold it mates to is flush and smooth.
