That is where the mice can get out,,after you have driven the car home, and went to bed.
they Escape and steal cheese out of your fridge for energy and climb back up into that hole and back onto the Treadmilll so you can go to work in the morning with Mad N/A power!!!
..(****,I had to..it was funny!)..
Seriously,an Inspection hole for the Clutch.

you might be able to get one from a junkyard.

or go to your local hardware store, get some sort of rubber and cut it down and stick it in there. or put tape over it, but that would probably fall off from heat.

haha i made a thread about this when i first found that hole in my car

best advice just tape it..i got a few rubber plugs from pick a part, and they were crap... brittle and cracked dude to corrosion of weather and heat... so tape will do fine

Dude mine was really bad. What kinda of tranny oil did you use...cause when i went to autozone and advance to get some tranny oil, no one could tell me what kinda of oil to use. Well from my area at least. and i soon read up and found out 75W-90 for the tranny was ok and 80W-90 for the diff.

Do you pour anything by the shift **** ?i saw that in the FSM. ?

Wankel7 : not even sure i saw the flywheel thats all. i'll check again.

I use RP. I used Mobile 1 before, but RP works better when cold. Just do not overfill when adding from the shift **** as it will cause your car to smell (even more) like oil.

Just to be clear...
The oil you add from the top (the "shift ****" area) is only for the shift linkage and NOT the gearbox itself.
The transmission has a separate fill plug on the side of the case above the drain plug.
If you drain the tranny and only add oil to the shifter box, you're running the gears dry, which can't be a good thing.

Do you ever change the oil in the shifter?

I've checked it (once in three years) and topped it off but never "changed it", per se.

Since the oil in that case isn't getting chewed to bits by gears, it shouldn't really break down much.

okay so the shift **** oil area is mostly for the shift linkage area and shifting ****.
Im guess you dont need to drain that ?

yea im try royal purple next time. im going to do it after my 2nd oil change.

Yea guys always take off the fill plug first than drain plug.
Nd you should be straight.

im not sure if the shift **** oil burns or its just lubricating.
