What Oil Press & Temp Should I be seeing?

I have a '91 N/A, streetported and full TII exhaust. Everything else is stock.

What is the range of Oil pressure (min & max) and Oil Temp (min & max) that my motor will be seeing. The reason I ask...I am looking for guages and would like to make sure that the sweep of the needle will cover the full range of pressure and temp the motor will experience.

Thankx

0-100 PSI oil pressure is a good range
0-300 deg oil temp is a good range.

Thanks paul...is it safe to assume you have both electronic 90deg sweep guages then???

The RB website (under the descrip for the adapter block) says to get a 0-125psi guage...What do you think about that? A o-125psi guage would imply getting a mechanical one...is the additional sweep range, and extra 25psi worth running an oil line into the cabin?

Thanks

Actually you dont need a 300 Degree Oil Temp Gauge...get the lowest possible...Like 240 or something...Your oil temp's operating temperature will be in the 180-210 range...any higher than that is bad...

I have A mechanical oil pressure, oil Temp, and Boost gauge..I will be switching from Autometer to VDO for accuracy reasons...

Ok, if you only want to run to 240, no problem, get the 240 guage, I regularly run up to 240* oil temps on the FC (synthetic) so I run the 300 guage.

I would never run oil lines into the cabin, considering how simple an electrical guage is to hook up, and how dangerous a blown oil or water line could be in the cabin..

I don't see you getting to 125psi unless you run the higher pressure regulator, but even then, I don't see you getting to 125.. 100 should be fine IMHO.

Silkworm, I would check your oil cooler...240 Degrees is way too hot...I live in Georgia and drive my T2 pretty hard and have never seen over 210...Mazda states that oil temps above 210 will damage the engine...You might have some sort of blockage, or some sort of Oil cooler regulator issue...Oil is responsible for 30% of the cooling of the 13b....

Do you NA guys run the same cooler that the T2's do?

I dunno, do you regularly spend time between 6-8K constantly for 30 minutes in your T2? Those temps are from the race car The cooler has been flushed twice, and I have the bypass valve disabled..

I'm looking at either a 2nd cooler or a oil to water cooler, not sure which.. For now, 240 isn't bad, I know guys regularlly racing up to 260..

Sorry, I thought that was your temp on your commute to work or something...

240 is the max we run on the 4 Rotor...
