The long combustion chamber means it's hard for all the gas to be burned. So for an NA always buy the lowest octance grade available.
If you run higher octane combustion becomes less efficient, you throw more gas out the exhaust, and horsepower is decreased.

if you put more than 87 octane in youll be wasting gas. the motor wont completely burn all the fuel if you go higher than that, it will just spit raw fuel into the cat/exhuast. and seeing how it doesnt burn all the fuel you will loose efficiency.
