i dont know much about gas, but im pretty sure your supposed to use whatever the manuafactureer meant for it to take. unless you modify it a lot you might need a higher grade.

I believe in an N/A you are supposed to run 87 octane.

This has been in a poll before. I have a copy of the window sticker of my 10AE and it still says 87. I think all internal combustion engines in cars (besides leaded and diesels) were built to run on 87. Don't quote me on it though.

octane ratings are just basically resistance to knocking ratings.

NA cars dont really have to worry about using high octane gas, the lowest you can find, the better. Usually the lowest around here is 87, and that is plenty good for a NA. Believe it or not, your cars performance will actually decrease with higher octane gas.

87. anything higher can be bad news. Running that 93 or 94 **** in just about any car makes no difference anyways, people just like to think it does.

worry more about the brand than the octane, i've heard nothing but good things about chevron gas. and be sure to spin her out 8k every now and then to burn off the carbon

87 is the way to go for N/A's, anything higher will just be a waiste of your money

Unless of course you buy some AVGAS or something similar which has both a high energy content and is about 100 RON(?)...

Then you can advane your timing a bit and squeese a bit more power out of it.

But yes, for your average N/A motor running road fuel then the lowest octane rating you can get will generally have a high energy content, IIRC.
