Its Alive!! Half Bridge Port videos

Well after lots of hard work with BDC and Slmblk7. We pulled the motor got it powder coated and BDC reworked the Bridge ports. The car started right up and sounds great. outstanding job on the build BDC! here is a few videos of the 1st start and moving it out side. its a little smoky we used lots of assmebly lube when it was built. This will clear up. the car is alot louder now with the new reworked Spec X half bridge.

here is the link, the last 4 are videos note to self asks santa for a real video camera.....

That port is beautiful. I smell a bridgeport in my future. Nice work.

Is this going to break you into the 11's?

That car sounds awsome....

I have street driven a half bridge port for over a year. with no problems from the bridge. making on around 400rwhp on pump gas.
and right at 500rwhp 400fptq on race gas.

I dont see why this one wont last if you take care of it and tune it right.

all we did was clean up the port and increase the size of the bridge that was already there.

we have been in the 11's for a long time already 2 years now. I wanted to get to the track before the year was up and run a low - mid 10 but looks like its going to have to wait till feb when the track opens again.

we have not gotten to run the car on the track with the new turbo setup.

the 11's we ran where done on To4e and half BP @12psi
11.6 @ 115

I did the port and internal motor modifications. I do this for a living and primarily deal with 2nd gens and Haltech E6K tuning. Tony and I have shop space in the Dallas/Ft. Worth (Texas) area and I do this full time. I've been doing this as a hobby for about 7 years now and professionally for about two. PM me or email me at bdc196@comcast.net if you're interested; I can work out some good deals with you guys on port work, labour cost, and other recommendations.

On this more aggressive bridgeport job, I'm not honestly sure. Those kinds of figures are hard to ascertain because there's not many people who honestly daily-drive bridgeport or PP-port cars regularly so it's difficult to have a real way to measure it.

There's a more conservative version of this half-bridgeport job that I do for street cars that are looking to have a bit more 'edge' to them and I fully expect those to last awhile. The two major things to keep in mind on bridgeport motors are the thickness of the iron bridge for the apex and corner seals to ride on (since it's a smaller mass of metal, it may retain more heat from the friction of the sprung seals forcibly riding across it) as well as the thickness of metal left inbetween the inner water jacket o-ring land and the eyebrow cut for the bridgeport. The conservative version leaves all of the iron intact for that and shouldn't be any issue long-term wise.

all we did was clean up the port and increase the size of the bridge that was already there.
The last dynos we did were about a month or so ago. The car made 499rwhp and 399.7ft/lbs torque to the wheels at 23psi on 112oct race gas. We want more. Part of the reason for tearing the motor down was to re-work the porting; his irons were from earlier port designs I've since made obsolete. I've had plenty of practice since I initially did his and decided to clean them up, re-size things, and re-shape things to get more edge out of it.
