try doing what is normally a one hour job in one hour. the whole "20 yr old nuts and bolts" thing seems to complicate any job

Quoted for truth. Invest in tons of PB Blaster, brake cleaner and engine degreaser. You'll need it.

You should never not recheck your work again and again.

You should never not use a TQ wrench to properly TQ potentially important bolts.

You should never not learn to use a multimeter

You should never not refer to the FSM over and over again

and finally you should never not use the search button

Amen. I had a socket fall into a small gap in between the eccentric pulley and the front of the block. That took about a day and a half to get out.

We've had these topics in the past...A search will turn them up.

It all boils down to common sense.

Don't try to run the car on gravy and baby tears.

Don't fill your tires with Jell-O.

Don't use your FC as a lawnmower.

Seriously, the list goes on and on....

Oh yes, that's a good one. I once had my UIM off and had just the LIM on, I was putting the OMP injectors back into the LIM and I dropped one of the copper washers and, of course, it fell right into one of the runners in the the LIM. I pulled it back off and luckily the washer had wedged itself in the entrance to one of the ports, rather than going into the motor.
