What modification should I do next?

I am curious to what you guys think would be the next logical modification to my car? I know I need my suspension done, and I need to tune my SAFC2, but aside from that, what should I do next. I was thinking of porting my wastegate, but I dont boostcreep at all with a stock S5 wastegate. I am running 8psi. I was thinking of doing a FMIC, EFan, or a turbo upgrade kit. I usually don't like Ebay branded stuff, but I was wondering if those SS Autochrome turbo upgrades are any decent. If I do get a turbo upgrade kit, would I need to upgrade my ECU? Thanks for the insight guys.

FMIC. An E-Fan is pointless.

do not buy ssac turbos. https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo-rx-7s-23/ebay-ss-autochrome-turbo-failer-1bar-492772/

An E-fan is not pointless but some people like them, some dont, personally im glad i got one.

Alright, thanks for that link. definately no SSAC turbos. Any other alternatives for turbo kits. As for FMIC, what are some affordable kits aside from buying a used top brand ones?

A-spec is offering a FMIC core for the FC they can probably make the needed tubing for it as well. Look in the vendors section of this site.

im putting together a budget fmic at the moment im pickin up a pretty big intercooler off a stock SRT-4 and than im having the piping done by a local muffler shop. Let you guys know how it turns out. there are less than 2k miles on the intercooler, it was never boosted over 17 psi, and im pickin it up for 100 bucks...

I vote....do the suspension! You'd be surprised at how much more fun you'll have with what you've got.

i vote suspension too. if not, then some fuel mods. pump, secondaries, FPR, and maybe a wideband.

My suspension is most likely my next step, but I'd still like to know what I should do power wise to ensure reliability and to support what I have now.

So what suggestions do you have on suspension. I was thinking maybe some Zeal, Silkroads or Cusco coilovers with adjustable dampening. maybe even tein. I'd probably get some used ones and get them rebuilt.

So an oil intercooler would be pointless for a stock NA car, right? I'm slowly doing small mods to my car, now.

I agree with Jaiyurai on the fuel mods. A better fuel pump and some kind of AF gauge if nothing else and get it tuned. Wideband is better but at least with a narrow you can keep an eye on things.

Suspension wise.... IMO I think unless you're gonna track the car all the time I wouldn't spend the money on that stuff. Just get some RSR or Tanabe race springs, KYB AGX shocks, do an ES bushing kit, plan on getting some kind of rear camber adjuster if your car drops more than an inch and then a full alignment. Like I said, you'd be surprised what a difference it will make with what you have and most likey it will be all the suspension you ever want or need for taking the twistys or an HPDE. Oh yeah, some nice tires are a must.

I was talking to the owner of Rotorsports Racing and he was telling me that 2nd gens have the best oil coolers, way better than FD's. I've got 172 at the wheels on my N/A with an all stock cooling system and I don't have any issues. Your best cooling mod would probably be an aftermarket gauge since it's more accurate and responsive than the stock one, so you can catch problems before it's too late.

And make sure you have an undertray on your car like it's suppose to! Forces more air through the radiator and oil cooler and protects it.

Now when you say aftermarket gauge, you mean a gauge just for oil, or what? If you mean just oil, I'll get one tomorrow. If it's for the gauge that tells me my car is fully warmed up, then you're going to have to supply me with a good company to go through. If you want to, though.

Edit: Undertay? Never really thought about getting one of those. Would Racing Beat have on? Now you got my full attention.

That's what he meant. If it's an oil pressure gauge you'll have to install a new sender unit (should come with one) either in place of the original one or buy someones oil pedestal mount to attach it to. If you get an oil temp gauge you'll need the pedestal mount for the new sender unit. It's a nice extra but it depends on you and your car if you really need it or not.

The cars came with them from the factory. If it's missing they pop up in the for sale section all the time or hit a junk yard.

Yea, I had a feeling he was talking about that, and only that. But onto this Undertay you spoke of. I know the FC came with a stock undertray, but if there's an aftermarket, I'm assuming this fits the curves of the stock front bumper, and covers everything, correct?
