What model?
I'm looking into buying an (unbelievably clean) '91 FC, but I'm a little confused as to which model it is. Here's what I DO know about it.
-Aluminum hood
-Dual, color-keyed mirrors
-redlines at 8k
-NO limited slip
-the car is white w/ a black interior. There's no stickers on the side that say GTU or GTU-S or ?, so it may have been repainted.
If I can think of any more ways to I.D. it, I'll post 'em. I didn't copy the VIN number, but if I did, would I be able to figure out what model it is with that? Is there any other way to tell?
A ran a couple searches, but didn't come up with the info I'm looking for. Thanks in advance!

all 91's are summed up into 3 catagories..... coupe, turbo 2 and convertible......... they stopped naming them in 91....... so, your going to buy a coupe!
no matter what options an n/a came with in 91, it called a "coupe".. no more GTU, GXL, ect....

Ahh. Thanks for helping out the n00b, guys!
I was trippin' because the car is so clean, yet it was "missing" the decals on the sides, which usually means it'd been repainted.
Nope, it really is what it appears to be...Some lady's car that she babied for 15 years.
I'm gonna go buy it. I'll be back in an hour or so with a few pics.

Hmmm. I'm not too informed about RX7s (yet), so I dunno about the grill. There's a grill in there. It's black and looks kinda like this ++++ (you can barely see it in the 1st pic)
The car runs like it looks...near perfectly. I bought it from my wife's friend who bought it new in '90. She provided all the records from day 1. It'll need some suspension stuff soon, but I planned on swapping that out anyway, so it's all good. LOL! She just payed 800 bucks to have the psycho-mouse seatbelts replaced. Personally, I would've spent that money on suspension and slapped in some manual seatbelts, but...eh. I'm definately safe.
I payed 3g's for the FC, but the lady is gonna 0% finance me for a year. I couldn't pass it up!

I can't believe no one told you man...
That sucks about the seatbelts, they're FREE to replace. Mazda did a recall, if they ever break you take it into the dealer and they are required by law to replace the broken one(s)... and they seem to break a lot.
Anyway 3k sounds right for that car... it probably has a lot of carbon buildup so try to heat it up occasionally with some spirited driving and a full pull through all the rpms straight to the redline (redline doesn't cause extra wear btw so don't worry about it, just don't keep it there for a long time or anything heh) that will take some of the carbon off.

heh, I don't think I'll let the lady know that. I wonder if her mechanic burned her for 800 clams or if they actually bought the parts....probably the former.
