What it might take to run a turbo 2

Hey everyone i was wondering what it might take to make a FC Turbo 2 to run up again. I got it last year and was put into storage. It did not run for 12 years before that. Apart from rebuilding the engine what else should i be doing? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

Rebuild it, and go from there! hopefully nothing corroded too bad on the electrical side of things. There will be gremlins though.

money..!!!

Seriously Though,I would start with looking to see if the engine actually will roll over by Hand.Don't try to start it up YET,just see if the engine rolls freely.
If you can lube the internals then It may not even need a rebuild.
It's worth a shot.

A lot depends on how the car was stored but at the very least you should open up the fuel tank and flush the hydraulic and cooling systems.

Removing An RX-7 From Storage, Dealing With Improper Storage

If it was stored improperly, you are in for a world of fun.

Every system on the car will likely need attention, concentrating on the fuel and braking system.

The engine may not need to be rebuilt if carefully brought back into service.

if by care you mean putting new gas/oil/coolant in it and seeing if it runs, then yes. it might just live again.

you won't know what needs attention until you get it running and attempt to drive it.

there is no such thing as proper storage, things rot with disuse no matter how careful you are. the best thing that can be done is to simply store it indoors and restore it there.

the hoses, belts, tires, hydraulics, fuel system and possibly the engine are all going to be the most susceptible to fatigue from sitting.

but there is always success stories, like my old REPU which sat for 24 years outdoors before i got it. unlocked the engine and cleaned the fuel system(rebuilt the fuel tank because it looked like swiss cheese) and it fired right up, no smoke or coughing. the brakes and tires were all dry rotted and needed attention after that though.
