Please don't take this the wrong way from an old man, but it seems like you're spending too much time sitting at your computer and bitching and not enough time under your car fixing the problems. My kid just spun his mom's 91 NA into a wall on the freeway and the quote for just the rear suspension parts replacement was in excess of $3200.00!!! I bought another 88 NA for $130.00 an pulled the parts from it. The whole job took about three hours. Then I spent $60.00 for a 4-wheel alignment. If you're that upset, part the damned thing out and double your money.
For $8,000 you'd probably be justified in being upset. For $800.00, you're lucky it made it home without a tow truck.

 

If it makes you feel any better , a clean rx-7 would be another $1500.00 cash u p front .... and then theres no guarentee that something major won't crap the bed .. find a decent corner mechanic shop or buy a monkey suit , and find a cheap rx7 parts source , teamup with
another local 2nd gen owner near by .. Good luck ..

bought a real clean 90 Gxl n/a east of clevland in nearby Mentor Ohio, for $3,250.. and lucky the seller was a super honest guy !! But thats also " 4 times " what you payed ....

 

I got an engine fire for my $1200 deal two days after buying my car. $400 and one month later (and alot of cuts on my arms and hands) I'm tearing up the road again (not really, but cruising anyway). $800 is a good deal from a starting point. Get out your tools and get to work. (buy some bandaids too)
