What kind of lsd does the clutch lsd come with for the S4.

is it a 1 way or 1.5 way?

I remember reading a thread on it back in 2006-2007 llol, but I cant find it.

 

I remember reading a previous post by Ted that is was a 2 way clutch-type LSD.

 

Oh really.

I dont think it is a 2 way though, because I remembered aaron cake said it was a 1 way, but dDub, or black91 said it was a 1.5
I need a definite answer.

i might be wrong onthis but im at work and i cant really research anymore into it at this time, but i recalled that the viscous are 1 way and the clutch are 1.5 way.
correct me if im wrong.

dang! free bump i really want to know the answer to this as well. i have also heard that some clutch types are 1.5

 

I read somewhere that the 87 Turbos had a 1 way, and the (vin split) 88-91 turbos had a 1.5 way.

I couldn't imagine why a 2 way or full lock would be installed from the factory so i think none of the years came with that Diff.

Also on info gathered from Mazdatrix a VLSD was used on some S5 N/As

 

so far after reading more information on it, in 2 hours, I still have no definitive answer.

So far the majority says that the clutch type lsd in the s4 are 1 way except the turbo which is a 1.5, and since all S5 (even the turbo) lsd are viscous, you cant really compare it to the other lsds.

So....who got the right answer...
