ahhhh... The wonderful reason (one and only) that nebraska is worth living in... no emmissions inspections.
at least on cars.. the cops seem to like to check the trucks a lot for cats.

I did the same thing, bought a lt1 elec. air pump and wired in a switch inside the car to activate it. You don't need the acv, egr, and all the stock emmisions stuff to pass.

What you need:

hook up the elec. air pump
run a hose from the air pump to the lower part of the split air pipe. Hook up the pre cat/main cat and connect the split air pipe into the car and you're good to go.

Does not having the air pump on all the time ruin your cat? That's what I've heard but this sounds like an awesome mod! So you don't need the ACV right? Thanks!

It wouldn't work without a cat because if you don't have a split air pipe coming off the cat then where would you plug in the output of the air pump?

I've heard that running your cat without an airpump would ruin the cat....but I've found that not neccesarily the case. Regardless those people who are taking off the airpump are probably doing so because they already replaced the cats with a downpipe and midpipe.

No you don't need the ACV, you can just run a hose straight from the elec. air pump, into the split air pipe, down into the main cat.

the pre-silencer has a split air pipe...my TII came with the N/A one... no idea why, but its blocked off right now, i can unblock it though...

i was going to pay an arm and a leg to get my car to pass, but if i can do this, that would be great.

I'm pretty sure you need at least a cat w/ working split air to pass emissions

Do you think this would work in California? Emissions seems to be insanely stringent around here, and I imagine I will have to completely detune my car every two years.

I've heard some places in Cali have visual inspections to make sure everything is there. Some places in Cali I know wont let you swap off with an air pump model that did not come with your car.

Have you managed to pass emissions? I thought it would be impossible with a J-spec motor...

I wonder if there's any way they would really know. I doubt this thing has "CORVETTE" stamped on it somewhere.

Do Cali inspectors have pictures of what it should look like under a stock hood or access to FSM's?
