Could someone please tell me what I've done wronge. My 88 t2 wont run unless I hook up the gas lines backwards. I have removed all the emisions. Could someone also show me a photo of the fuel check connector (the yellow connector) I can't seam to be able to find mine on the car.

is the engine stock or a JDM replacement.

JDM replacements have the fuel lines reversed

The engine is not run with the fuel lines reversed, it's physically impossible. So what you think is the right way is obviously the wrong way...

The engine is a JDM replacement but I have removed the rats nest from it. I have read that the engine will not run with the fuel lines reversed, but I know that the only way It will run is when I hook my fuel line from my filter to the pressure regulator on the upper fuel rail. Is there any way that the pump could be hooked up wronge??

It's been a while since I've looked at the fuel pump, but I believe you could possibly route the hose coming from the pump (at the gas tank) such that you are pumping into the return line.

If you did so, AND you routed your fuel lines from the filter and return lines to the rail on the engine backwards, you would pump from the tank through the return line, into the fuel rails (flowing through in the proper direction), exit from the regulator, then into the filter, and back to the tank.

As I recall, the lines exiting the tank and the lines on the chassis that they attach to are aligned so that it would be hard to make this mistake, but...

As NZ stated, you can't go through the regulator backwards, so this is just about the only thing I can think of.

Ok I tested the cars fuel system, alworking right. Pulled the uim and discovered that the fuel pressure regulator is on the lower fuel rail, wtf. This is a JDM replacement using the fuel rails that came on it. WHy would the pressure regulator be on the wrong rail? should I leave it or change it to the right way? I stil have the rails off the original motor. Thanks guys for all of your help.

Don't you wonder why Icemark asked you if its a JDM motor?

Its because the fuel system is reversed on JDM engines.............................

I thought it was just becouse the fuel lines cross over each other on the rats nest, I didn't think that there was a difference with the fuel rails and the placment of the pressure regulator.

Because that's where it is on all JDM engines. It's not the wrong rail, it's just the other rail. That's where it's supposed to be, so leave your perfectly running engine alone.
