Unhappy What happens when a 13BT doesn't eat it's Wheaties...

OMP failure + an already cracked seal + 8 lbs of boost is not good....

well, that just makes me want to go talk nice to my car and read it bedtime stories to make it feel better toward me so this dosen't happen.

On a more serious note, what you gonna do? I would say (if you have the money) get the RB super light rotating assembally. only 8.5 lbs or so. Also completely balanced. Too bad it's like $2500. Guess I can't say "this tread is useless without pics," though

Man I'd cry if I saw the inside of my engine looking like that. ;( Poor 13B.

You were expecting it though, right? I mean... running 8lb on a cracked seal? o.O

No, I really wasn't expecting it. The cracked seal is merely our hypothesis as to why it was running kind of rough to begin with. This was all theorized however after I went from running 90k original motor tii, to non running 90k motor tii.

Just curious, but how long could you go without the OMP functioning before you caused any damage? like 10 minutes of street driving, or a week?

Well, common sense... you can't go 1 minute without causing damage... but the damage will be minimal. The more you drive it, the more wear... with nothing to lubricate the apex seals as they slide around the housings you're going to get bad wear, possible heat issues, etc.

So how long you can drive on it like that is really just determined by what condition they're in to start... and how much you don't mind taking a couple thousand miles of life out of the engine.

Isn´t it possible that the fuel injectors will clog when premixing?
I will premix and remove the OMP, and I´ve nerver heard anything about it...

If you're worried about this then you can purchase premix for fuel injected systems such as snowmobiles and jetskis.

I've heard of doing this, most people only put in a few onces with a full take, like 8 onces or so. I run strait premix with no OMP so i put in 1oz per gallon.

Rest in peace poor, poor rotor. Well, good time to build things up I guess. That OMP failure blows too. My OMP system was clogged shortly after I got the car (go figure), so I moved to premix and it does run alot smoother, at the expense of some smellier exhaust. I use the TCW-3 stuff that's designed for fuel injector systems, and have a spare set of injectors I snagged for $40 laying around if mine ever get clogged or stuck.

Even after I get the stock OMP system fixed up, I'm planning on running 4oz. of premix just for safety, and for a little extra smoothness.

Are you gonna reuse that housing as well? It kinda looks gouged a bit too much to hold good compression.

Premix should not clog injectors. Get TCW-3 Rated Premix.

You _can_ drive for months, without a functioning OMP, without doing much damage. I speak from experience.

I just would NOT reccomend it.
