What is a good exhaust system?

I'm sure it's a typical newbie question, but I'm going to ask it anyways. I have a 1986 n/a.

I live in a small community, so I dont use any cats. I do drive my car everyday, and while it's pretty loud right now, I dont mind if it gets a little bit louder, but I dont want to get long-term ear damage.

So what is a good set-up for a daily driver? Who makes good exhaust systems? Would headers be too loud for the street? I want to replace my entire exhaust system.

Thanks!

I have the Apexi Single and it sounds beautiful.
As for the headers I would go with either Mindtrain or Racing Beat.

By the way there is nothing wrong with having a loud car, the power is more important

I ran RB header, RB presilencer, and a custom N1 single catback. Loud enough to wake the dead when combined with my heavy right foot You can get a removeable silencer for the N1 that makes it like 8dB-10dB quieter, or get the RB catback...Nice tone with good power. Loud does not always equal power, BTW.

I reccommend the RB cat back. If you want power get headers. Headers will make it loud. The RB cat back will try to keep it sane.

I have an 88SE and it is very loud. I have the stock header, and 2.5' piping runnig into dual Apexi mufflers(inya wanna call em that). I live in the beautiful city of Chicago and have to pass emissions. I removed all the cats and just stuck one new one under there. Passed emmisios fine.
