Question What engine upgrades when??

I'm currently swapping out my 90 gxl NA with an S5 jdm turbo engine. The previous owner of the car just bought a new exhaust for it. Unfortunately, the installer cut up and welded everything from the downpipe to the Y pipe(exclusive) together. So in order to get the car working I'll have to replace the exhaust. Well this is how I plan to put everything together:
1. Buy new exhaust: http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtnumber=16425
(does anyone have this exhaust??? does it sound "ricey"??
2. Install engine( it comes with an FCD).
?. Upgrade Turbo.
?. Upgrade ECU.
?. Install boost controller.
?. What's next engine-wise.

that rb exhaust is prolly one of the best sounding on the market, has a very good sound.
I would also upgrade the intercooler, injectors, intake.

"Best sounding"?? Define "best sounding". I'm a 35 year old father of 3(the older I get, the more conservative I like to appear). I'd like something that was on the quieter side, but still enhancings the engine's power. Don't want to take one of the kids for a ride and blow their ears out. My 6 year old daughter loves it when I drive fast!

yuichiror, does VA have an emissions test like we do in MA? every year when you have to get you vehicle inspected for safety etc the shop needs to test for emissions. i'm wondering what exhaust i can get to boost performance of my FC but still keep it within the legal limits of emissions. or will i have to get into a good working relationship with some friend at my local shop to put his civic on the "emissions sniffer" in place of my FC... hhmmmm the toils of smog and the rotory...

I live in SouthEast VA, we don't have emissions test down here, unlike Northern VA. I would probably keep all your emissions equipment on your car and have at least some cat converter on the exhaust itself, unless you want to try one of the emissions "fake outs" listed in the forum. But RB does have a system to improve proformance with a cat: http://www.racingbeat.com/FCExhaust/FC%20Cat%20Back.htm
BTW, Ryosuke, nihonjin desu???

Vous savez les gars, le systeme d'échappement racing beat est vraiment le meilleur du marché, mais cependant il coute un peu trop cher pour la majorité des détenteurs de FC. ( french )

come on guys, speak english so everyone can understand...

Racing Beat exhaust is probably the quietest setup for the HP. I have it and love it. Keeps a fairly low tone at idle and gets a little louder when you open it up, but not too loud. I had an audio clip on here a while back. You can search my name for exhaust and maybe find it.

ahahahah no biggie dude!

BTW we say : Je regrette, not : Je m'egrette. But I applause your efforts speaking french!

on another note, I'd like to say that before beginning serious mods, Just set everything ready for those applications ( full 60k tune up, flush and fill all the car's fluids, walbro fuel pump, 720CC secondary, SAFC or whatever piggyback fuel controller, MONSTER WG PORT!!!! to avoid blowing your engine )

wanna have something quiet and performance??? RAcing beat Turboback is probably the only choice. A bit pricy though...

lol, sorry, I took 5 years of French in school, but that was nearly 20 years ago. I don't mind the price of RB if it suites my needs. After looking at your suggestions, I'm assuming those prerequisites are necessary for upgrading the turbo, correct?
