Am I the only one who read the posts of Ted saying things he would not make?

Anyhow, a cuholer would be nice, I think you should try to make one that replaces the trim around the shifter itself instead of the whole stereo surround, it would save on costs, and probably be easy to produce. Just make sure its on the passanger side, and able to hold 32 ounces, lol.

Id also like to see some sort of idiot cluster gauge holder replacement, but one that would hold 3 60mm gauges.

Too much trouble and the R&D time will cost a fortune.

Cheapest route is to transfer the electronics into a larger custom AFM housing and use something like an AFC to fine-tune it, but that already adds the cost of the fuel controller.

For the mount of money you'll spend to do this, you're better off going stand-alone EMS and converting to MAP based with no AFM...

If I remember correctly, it was about $1,700 for that Miata hard-top piece - not cheap!  The FC one will be larger, but composite materials should keep the cost down - dunno if the racing sanctions are going to like that.

also ...

a track approved, cool looking roll bar thingy for the cabrio. (think there are some already)
That kinda stuff I'm not going to touch, cause shipping is going to kill.  If you can find a good welder locally, you're better off going that route.  Any kinda raw metal materials is stupid expensive here in Hawaii. I wish I was back in Sac for that!

bump steer adjusters, maybe a kit for the steering rack to change the ratio, cheaper bearing control arms (AWR charges 350 per arm) subframe spacers for the rear, kit for foam injecting the chassis, underbody aero kit to cover up the tranny tunnel, stuff like that

Real Lambroghini latches are like $10,000!
RZ Kazama in Japan are doing conversion kits that are priced under $2,000.
I won't touch stuff like that cause of safety concerns.

and a automatic rear hatch opener, you know, with a aftermarket remote, just pop it open. hummmmm
There are kits that you can adapt for your FC available.

Too expensive and too little demand for it...
Maybe you can convince K2RD to make them, since they race these things.

along with that, a nice turbo plentum to go over it for us turbo cars. (currently the only people I know making these products are in australia and they want alot of cash for the entire setup)
R&D will be substantial.  Stock units work well enough to make decent power.

I would like to see some better roll cages made.
Too heavy and too expensive.

Fiberglass doors (yet fully functional doors) , fiberglass and lexan rear hatch, s5 stock front lip (no one sells these anywhere!!)
Body kit pieces are too bulky.

[B}]Basically anything other than that would have to be custom made for the current application. Mass producing some things would be worthless. [/B]
Yeah, one-off's or low production runs do take a lot of time.

Polycarbonate **** is expensive to make!
Polycarbonate = Lexan, it's bulletproof "glass".

Working on a cup holder, but it won't be attached to the center console.
The center console is fragile as it is.

reworked cpu ($100) (ie NEW works better than rig)
There's some guy working on the NA ECU, and I think Henrik (he doesn't come on here too much) is working on the turbo ECU's.

the gauge thingy cover (where the light switch and wipers are) designed with a digi-speedo on top and a digi odo/trip meter on the sides of the speedo. ($200-$500)
Lots of electronics and microcontroller stuff, which means a lot of R&D. I don't think there's enough demand for stuff like this - electronics are best if done in huge lots to get good pricing on electronics parts in bulk pricing.

logicon digi relay (to plug in to a PC or relocated button logicon. ($100-$200)
See above...

all the stupid vent covers!!!! (the trinagle ones the defrost one etc) ($30 each-$50 each )
Yeah, we're looking into CF manufacturing for small pieces.

metal shifter plate with a bushing kit something nice polished ss with the rotory logo on it (sorry dont like lether shifter boots) ($100-$200)
Yeah, like ala Ferrari.  With the design of the shifter, the bushings allow for a lot of delfection, and this might end up eating the shifter lever.

Anyone who knows a good welder can do this.
Pieces are almost all available from Racing Beat (except for T4 flange).
If there is enough demand, we might look into this, as we do have welding capability now.

As for what its made out of, aluminum works, but if something else is cheaper or easier thats good too, im not too picky. Once I get boosted (with either the camden supercharger or fc3s.org turbo kit) I'm going to want to run a total of 5 gauges, so after the double gauge mount on the a-pillar I dont have many options left.
Yeah, a gauge cluster sounds very popular.
I dunno about aluminum, since it's shiny, and I like my interior panels black.

Anyone with basic electrical knowledge can do this on their own.  Cheap would mean a lot of cutting and splicing.  Getting adapter plugs means expensive.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this for a while now, since a friend's 90 Camaro does this.

Hydarulic lift rates would be different for aluminum and steel hoods, but trying to find a good, cheap source of those lifts is pretty hard.  All the ones I've seen are like $50+ per side!

I want a quality TID made out of aluminum. i saw one at banzairacing i think, but they are on back order or sold out. they sell theirs for $150 which is a little on the high side... especially if you have to wait for them to make more. i have yet to find one for sale elsewhere.

The hard part is finding a good path for all the pipes.  I don't care too much for all the cutting the GReddy kits require.
We are looking to design a kit that would require ZERO cutting!

How about some t04 oil flanges with AN fittings already welded on instead of 1/2 NPT to AN.
I know we got some CNC people on here - maybe they can make them?

Lower on my list is a replacement under engine pan, I know these are hard to find and mostly broken. Perhaps something that has some built in sheilding that would cover the motor mounts from oil being spilled all over them. Maybe put a flap on it for draining coolant without having to remove the whole peice.
Under chassis aero looks to be a hot item right now, and we're working on some pieces to go in the front for now.

There is some kinda certification that goes along with this, and I don't want to mess with stuff like that.  You might start to see a lot of this stuff coming over from Japan, as the Japan manufacturers are starting to make them for the cars over there (i.e. A'PEXi).

Something to fix this ******* oil leak for good!!!!
Where???

Rear STB: cutting OK
I realy LIKE the Mazdaspeed unit which basically sandwiches the speaker tower with a two piece support.  This only requires a series of holes, and no major cutting of the metal or carpet.  We might look into making a similar unit, as I think the Mazdaspeed one is now discontinued?

Cheap 15-25mm spacers
There was some guy that was mouthing off about making these things for $3...what happened to that?  I'm surprised no one has offered to make these things, as they are not that bad to make.  We will look into it if there is enough demand for them.

** Dual exhausts are for NAs and twin turbos or piston engines with two banks of cylinder heads, i dont know about you but my turbo only has one outlet.
Twin turbo kit anyone?

Yah I agree, i'd rather not have aluminum, black is good cuz then I can paint it gunmetal to match everything else

What I would want is a anti barbacue kit. A kit that replaces all the rubber fuel lines in the engine bay with some SS lines or something like that. THe kit would have the option of coming with a PD replacement Banjo bolt. The kit would include all the hardware to do the job (lines , fittings, ect>). A reasonable amount of fabrication is fine. Stock rails would be kept, may be an option for a aftermarket FPR (FPR not included in the kit). I could see myself paying $150 for that.

Put me down for a cup holder as well. $40 if designed well.
