there are lots of differences. the biggest one is the fact that the turbo model...has a turbo, but i'm sure you knew that already. also, the Turbo motor has 4 intake ports, whereas the NA motor has the 4 main ports plus 2 auxiliary ports that open at higher RPM to let in more air and fuel (not sure of the exact RPM). it is not that hard to swap a turbo motor into an NA chassis, and it is also possible but less popular to turbocharge an NA motor (Aaron Cake has a great write-up on this subject on this forum. Though he added a huge high boost turbo, it proves it is indeed possible to turbocharge an NA motor) you will soon learn that Aaron Cake is the ultimate master of all things rotary.

yeah you probably could have searched to find the answers to all your questions, but i'm bored and felt like answering questions

No the motor mounts are the same for FC, but the diff and tranny mounts are a little different. If you want to swap into your NA I would get the series specific engine and drop it in so you don't have to worry about wiring, custom drive shafts, and other "problems" that occur when quickly swapping motors.

This takes a little work to fit behind an S4 bumper, and tons of cutting regardless. Don't do it unless you have plenty of time, a large turbo, and supporting mods.

That should help. If you just want to drive it though, get another NA and you should have it running in an afternoon if you're careful. Swaps just require a bit of time, finesse, and attention to detail, but FC are one chassis so everything is drop in. Good luck.

try searching. many people have asked the same questions as you.

your engine choice should be fine (and make for an easier swap) if you stick with the same series. 86-88 models are s4, and 89-91 models are s5. you have an s4.

Thats right but unless you buy the whole Tii drive line you'll need a custom drive shaft to use it. It bolts right up to the NA transmission and you'll have no worries if you just want to get the car running.

I know alot of people say this, but you may as well sell your non turbo and buy one that is an actual turbo, will prolly end up costing similar and you get all the benefits of having one that came out as a turbo to begin with.

The turbo IIs have acceleration, the NA's dont. Simple as that.

You really should get a test ride in a real Turbo II.
It will really open your eyes up.

Quoted directly from the FAQ:

Can I swap a Turbo engine/Jspec engine/13BT/etc into my Non Turbo?
Yes, check these links:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=26647
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/ro...conversion.htm

What Turbo kits can I add onto my non turbo RX-7?
There are no longer kits formally made at the time of this post, however there are companies from time to time that do make available non turbo to Turbo Kits. Because most of these companies stop building the kits, or go out of business in short time, it is impossible to keep active links for them.

Most people that turbo a non turbo make their own kits:
Using the stock TII turbo, exhaust manifold with spacer, NA intakes and NA ECU:
