What the Crap! Need help with CPU.

So I have a 91 Vert and the CPU was bad, so while I was stripping another 91 Vert the other day, I thought I would try the CPU from it, and it worked. I had high beams, door dinger, key illumination, and the alarm worked. Awesome!

A day later the CPU quite working. Now when I unplug the biggest plug, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in, I get door ding and key illumination for about a second, then nothing.

The 4 way flasher plug works regardless, but nothing else.

Any clues to what this could be?

Also, anyone have a link to a 91 Workshop manual, I have an 89 manual, but it describes the plugs wrong, I think because the 91 has Airbag.

The open relay's go bad in the cpu. Supposedly you can file the contacts, but I just created my own latching circuit for the high beams.

Good Luck!

BTW, Bill I still need that gas tank and straps we discussed on PM over on the other board, I just cannot get down to SA until the second week of October.

Having the same issues with my 91 vert. I'll be checking back and post if I find anything elsewhere.

I just put a new CPU board from mazdatrix in the vert when I had issues with mine. The older factory boards were badly designed, seems like the new boards have better components and better built in general, they look almost 50% different from the factory boards.

Yeah, I am just gonna order a new one. I got some electronics spray and cleaned the board and re soldered the points, and it worked for about 5 minutes, and is back doing the same thing. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't my wiring, but definitely seems to be the board. Funny part is I have about 6 of these at the shop, and all of them do the same thing. These things are horrible. I have about 20 wiper switches that don't work, but at least those can be fixed.

You don't by any chance have the part number, do you?
