Question what could this be?

i just went into my garage to take a look at my TII that is in storage for the winter. i took the car cover off and went inside the car and there was this white residue on the door panels, it was like a dust almost..it seemed to wipe off in some areas and in other areas it seemed to give the effect that the black was faded (not the leather areas). before i stored the car i cleaned the interior, but i cant remember what i used on the doors? what could this be?

Purchased my S5TII new and store it in one of our garages in the winter, and over the 18 years I've had the car the white "powder" just seems to manifest itself on the black leather near the vents. It's never harmed the leather in anyway and just wipes off... A phenomenon!!!!!!!

Nevermind, I saw in your first post. Probably just dust settling. Black interior will make it look lighter than it really is. I've had this in all of my cars, not just my 7's.

i thought it was dust settling but it made it look faded and wouldn't completely wipe off

You guys got me thinking about mine now hah! I don't drive it much, esp during the winter months and it seems to get real dusty on the dash but I haven't really noticed anything odd about it otherwise. Wonder if it could be mold or mildew somehow some of you might be seeing?

Dunno, was just thinking if it's around the vents maybe somehow if they are left in the open position moisture gets in or something.
