Does your 7 have lsd? My time off of the line improved a lot once I got a limited slip. My N/A with minor mods managed to beat a CRX with a LS swap, msd coils, and headers. It wasn't a Vtec model but I beat him by almost two cars twice.

Full exhaust, intake and probably a little porting. In otherwords you are going to spend about $3k+ and still only be a little faster than a mildly modded GSR.... Its not very cost effective. If you have to beat someone in adrag race go buy a TII. Or a camaro..........

camaro??? you better mean the late 90's model we used to laugh at the 80's-early 90's camaro's that couldn't keep up with our duratec-equipped (200fwhp, 195ftlbs tq i think) Ford Taurus's (at 3200-3400lbs)

Is it in an Integra? I'll just assume it is.

My NA FC had no problems with Integra's with DOHC usually. I had a drop in filter, RB Header/PS/CS exhaust at the time and 16" Rota's with good tire. I usually could nose out a GSR, but never had the chance to race a hatch or anything however.

I'll assume you got beat at the track also.

if its a hatch or crx with a b16 or a gsr you will have trouble unless you port your engine. many of my friends that have gsr and b16 hatches run low 14s on street tires. my one buddy had a b17 in his hatch that was lightened, and cams and ran a 12.68 @ 108 tuned on E85. hondas with DOHC VTECs arent slow unless they are shittily put together...

I used to beat a local B16 swapped civic coupe w/ I/H/E by about a car and a half from a 30 roll. Main reason I beat him was gearing, I liked to stick mine out to about 8k or so in an S4- it was dead even when I shifted at 7k. I Never got to run him from a stop, but my guess is that it would be pretty even.

Mods- crappy bent 2.5inch catback, Megasquirt, 4-inch intake w/ coldair box and K&N filter. Total cost was about $800.

must have been a guy that didnt upgrade computer than, i have trouble beliveing, that a N/A rx7 with 2.5inch catback, Megasquirt, 4-inch intake w/ coldair box and K&N filter could pull off better than a high 14sec 1/4 mile. no offence, casue i have seen my fair share of slow DOHC Vtecs, but if they are put in correctly, they are quick.

Get your car running up to spec. So if you haven't done a basic tune up...you should. Exhaust work goes a long way on a Rotary, I don't recommend you buy some overpriced Jap exhaust. most exhaust shops can make something for you, for alot less. Make sure it's not a glasspacked muffler. Intake, can be sourced for parts as well. For alot less than some kits out there. make sure your 5th & 6th ports are opening. Ignition amps and pulleys all help, but very little. Most N/A's run rich, so leaning them out will gain you a little more too. In the end, there's always the bottle. But I don't think you need to spend tons of $$$. to get it done.

Full exhaust, good for like 15-18hp, intake like 3hp, rtek7 about 10hp AFTER dyno tune, VDI about 10-12 hp if you don't already have it.

you could always super charge your car (using the cadman kit), or turbo swap.

+1 with lsd. I put in the hicas lsd in my s13 before and launch was much more effective. Also a short shifter, performance clutch, lighter flywheel and a aluminum driveshaft wouldnt hurt.

Good Luck.

N/A rx7's are slow stock, if you want a fast rx, get a turbo ii (wouldnt recomend swapping engine, just sell yours and buy a tii) or port your engine, all of the other mods wont do much.

You WILL dominate the streetz with this:

My wife says: "tell him to learn to drive and that racing Hondas is like the Special olympics."

these are the lowest of the low when it comes to lame threads on this forum. This goes along with the "TII vs. SR" thread and the "can my car beat a____."

AND at all the noobie answers!!!!

You should seriously look into figuring out what's wrong with your car.

Start by doing a TUNE-up and then checking things like your 5th and 6th ports to make sure they open and are functioning. What a lame thread.
