what calipers to buy?

gonna go put my order in at napa for some front calipers (the ones i pulled off are all seized up), but im not sure which ones to order... theyve got so many different options...

the options are:

-hard suspension
-to 10/80 w/5 lug
-5 lug wheels
-from 1/85 to 7/85 w/ 5 lug

granted, theyre all 4 piston front calipers... but is there a difference?

which car do you have? Generally, all 4 piston calipers should be the same.

cause they look like this:

the pins that hold the pads in... i cant even get them to budge... im pretty sure theyll be a PITA to rebuild... id rather have new/reman calipers...

so... all 4 piston calipers are the same?

use the 4 piston calipers, they are the best of any of the rx7s. If I can recall correctly, they are the same as the breaks as the 3rd gens, just a different cover. Yours don't look too bad, just get some brake cleaner and go at it. If you rebuild them yourself it will be a lot cheaper than getting new.

I think you want option #1. Option 2 and 4 both sound like they are for the FB judging by the dates. I know that when I order brake pads it is for "hard suspention", which basically means the ones with vented rotors.

You mean "vented rear rotors"- even the base model with single piston front calipers had vented front rotors.

Could be a difference of what hardware comes with them, but more likely just a difference in the reman vendor (CarDone vs. Beck-Arnley for example).

Those prices seem a bit high. I got reman'd four-pistons from Schucks for $32/ea. For that price it's not worth it to rebuild yourself.

For comparison Rockauto.com has CarDone remans for $30+core+shipping.
