Cool What is boost creep?

I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but what the hey!!!

I have searched, and searched but I can not find a definition of what is boost creep. Every post speak of it as if it is a bad thing, which is ok, but under what conditions will a fc suffer from this malady. I was thinking about getting a Borla exhaust, but heard that BC may be a problem with going to the borla setup.

So, oh wise and sometimes flamethrower toting forum members.....

Boost creep is a rise in boost due to not enough exhaust bypassing the housing. For example, you're set for 11 psi, and when you floor it, you get a quick rise to 11 or 12 psi. But then as rpm's climb, the boost creeps higher and higher: 12, 13, 14,15 etc. Enlargening the wastegate hole is one cure for boost creep.

If your considering putting a Borla cat back system on, you'll have no problem, until you start eliminating converters, or larger dp.

Ok, so my next question is what is the stock DP size? , and if you go with a larger DP how do you prevent the creep?

Thanks

Would you seriously consider clipping the turbine (which increases lag) instead of porting the wastegate (which has no negative effects)? I really hope not...

Clipping the wheel is pointless and expensive. It costs virtually nothing to port the wastegate. I ported my s5 turbo and with a 3" intake and 3" turbo back exhaust its absolutely rock solid at the .5bar i set it at. I can floor it in 5th gear and the boost needle on my greddy gauge will not move from .5bar. Just rip off the turbo and port it, its a weekend project if you've never removed the turbo.
