what blew? its oil related.
i was driving, and i noticed smoke coming from the engine. so i stop and open it up and oil is everywhere. i still have good oil pressure though. it just got sprayed all over the engine bay. so i am guessing a hose. but i looked at them and they all look good.

IF not the lines, then get a mirror and checkout the FRONT PULLEY BOLT, and see if there is a puddle of oil around the bolt. IF there is then take a 19mm scoket and test to see how tight that bolt is.
If lucy goosey, then you need to remove that bolt, get a new copper washer, clean the bolt threads and washer and mating area with alchohol/whatever, and then apply locktite to the bolt threads and tighten it down to the FSM specs.
That bolt is supposed to be installed with sealant (locktite). That plus the torque is why that bolt SHOULD be very hard/difficult to remove.
Or it could be something else. Not enough to go on here. IF it's sprayed on the underside of the hood and to the left and right sides of the engine bay, then it might be the fore mentioned bolt.

It could be the front cover gasket, those like to blow out on the passenger side due to a long run with no studs in it, but thats typically a result of no crank case ventilation, or some other pressure build up in the "crank case" (funny word as theres no crank down there), it could also cause oil to blow out of the oil filler neck as well.
Check your oil return and feed lines as well, and if you recently removed the oil pedestal and didn't replace the o-rings that's also another spot to check.

N/A cars STILL use a downpipe from the manifold to the convertor...
just look at Racing Beats website they call their cat replacement pipe a DOWNPIPE...
anymore DOWNPIPE has become quite universal when refering to the DESIGN of the pipe..

Either way, DO NOT drive the car if you suspect a major oil leak. You will hose the engine. I just pulled apart an engine that was run with a major leak and the bearings were very close to being spun...
If it's an oil cooler line, it will be obvious as soon as the car is started. Oil will spray from the blown line.
If you have trouble finding the leak, degrease the engine bay and then pull the EGI fuse so you can crank the car without it starting. That should make the leak obvious.

Uh, No. Racing beat calls it a "Catalytic Converter Replacement Pipe with Presilencer". It's unfortunate that they mingled the words in their description. Downpipe is not a universal word since I've never seen an N/a FC owner (Until now) list a downpipe in their sig as a mod. Ever.
Infact, Racing beat is the only company I know of that refers to the pipe in this fashion. Rx7.com's "Bonez" N/A exhaust product is a cat replacement pipe, not referred to as a downpipe. I think someone at racing beat just got loose with the terms.
Anywho.. why all the sarcasm over a misnomer!?
