Your ECU is behind that panel.

Edit: It's for engine management, and doesn't have anything to do with your alarm.

I'm not sure, because I've never looked for it, but the FSM shows the control unit for the alarm on the side kick panel, just to the right of the cover plate in your picture, and a little bit higher.

The THEFT PROTECTION UNIT is behind the louvered cover in the picture. That PLASTIC louvered outfit with about six screws holding it in place. Pull its plug and be done with itl Don't mistake the audio amp for the THEFT PROTECTION UNIT.

Its the ECU. I believe the Box for the alarm is actually under the glove box. Take the panel off under the glove box that has the 4 or 6 screws holding it on, you should find it there.

Almost, the alarm is right behind the glove box. Take the glove box door and glove box out and you should see it right next to the HVAC blower.

Someones's misunderstanding. IN the top of the picture, and to the left you can see the speaker under the louvers. Remove the screws holding that plastic piece and lower it. You should be able to see the Theft Unit.

Its nowhere near the ECU. See picture. Run picture, run.

Well, I definitely misunderstood the pictorial diagram M50 in the FSM. But, I'm picture-challenged, and often can't pinpoint locations shown in the manual. After your first post, I looked again, and said "oh! that's what it means"
