The leadings last longer.&nbsp Dunno if it's a performance gain, but it can't hurt anything if they are not fouling.

ok, so why does Mazda used different ratings for leading and trailing then?

Actually, Mazda had to design the car to run in ALL climates.&nbsp The 7's are a little hotter, so it allows the car to run in real cold temps and extreme stop-and-go driving.
