is it in the stock place where the ecu should be?

Where is that, exactly? The ecu is under the passenger side kick panel.

That's the body computer, controlling horns, flasher, etc. The ECU which controls timing and fuel is under the passenger footwell, under a metal plate. The metal plate is about the size of a laptop.

edit: it's not the theft CPU/ECU

it is the body computer
that is directly connected to the chassis harness
ecu is located under the carpet directly under the glove box

more info...from FSM (link in my sig.) Function: turn and hazard unit, stop light warning relay, light off reminder buzzer, key illumination timer, seat belt timer & buzzer, horn relay, ALT warning light relay, Key reminder buzzer.

Note this is from an '88 FSM.

Mine doesn't have the small plug (it's blanked out on the cover) near the top (left side in your picture). See where those wires go to...does anyone know?

ok awesome thanks. I wasn't sure if the ecu was supposed to be on the drivers side kick panel and i knew that wasnt it because my ecu is a n351. Thanks for the help
